Description
Year 2000 represents not only the Millennium, but also the year of the Sydney 2000 Summer Olympic Games. Accordingly, the movable event tent reflects the atmosphere of the Olympic Games. The installation is meant to introduce the new company image of the National Daily Sport Magazine. The tent is utilized on sport events, mini-Olympic Games, and in 2001 it serves as a doorway to Műcsarnok / Kunsthalle on the occasion of Millennium Applied Arts Exhibition.
The tent is the first construction of Medence Csoport. It was implemented within only one month, including also the design work. Having a prototype character, the installation is a vast non functional model.
The structure contains six awning sections stretched in two directions and tied to bamboo poles. Each section is hold by iron tubes buried in the ground.
